At Home Glycolic Peel on my face?! Review

 N E O S T R A T A
RESURFACE SMOOTH SURFACE GLYCOLIC PEEL
             with 10% AHA + AMINOFIL
Last week I was lucky enough to get sent a couple of products from Neostrata's new line of skincare by Influenster to test out. Although chemical exfoliation sounds scary with the strength of 10% glycolic acid, they're the perfect acid peel for beginners like me. The product claims to "reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and pore size" which are all things I need to help my skin.

"From the creators of the original Glycolic Acid Peel, this daily home use peel is expertly formulated at an effective pH using a NeoStrata-developed delivery system. Glycolic Acid enhances exfoliation to clarify pores, refine skin texture and improve skin tone. Patented, revolutionary Aminofil® builds skin’s natural volume and visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As a result, skin is fresher, healthier-looking with smoother texture and more even tone. This easy, one-step peel does not require rinsing or neutralizing. Moisturizer can be applied immediately after use. An ideal treatment to exfoliate and smooth skin on a daily basis."

Since receiving the products I have used it consistently for 2 weeks. At first my face felt tingly after swiping one of these pads all over my face, but it's worth it because my skin instantly felt smoother after the treatment is done. It's also been helpful in controlling acne flare ups. Be aware that the product contains AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and can make the skin more sensitive to the sun. For the next few days make sure to be extra diligent with sunscreen and sun protection.

Price
The product costs $70 for 36 pads + peel solution, 60mL/2.0 fl oz. Like I mentioned in my intro, I received my trio complimentary.

Key Ingredients: Glycolic Acid, AminoFil®

Results
Right after using the trio my skin felt a bit softer and a bit smoother but the real results happened over the course of a week. I noticed that my skin started looking a lot brighter! One of my main skincare concerns is lightening and fading my acne marks-- which the Glycolic peel definitely addressed.

Would I recommend?
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed adding this Neostrata glycolic peel to my night time routine and will definitely be sticking with it. I think the peel would also be perfect for people who don't regularly use chemical exfoliants & are new to the process (like myself!) And those who are concerned with the texture and clarity of their skin. #ThisIsMyNewLayer, #CestMaNouvellePeau, #Neostrata, #NeostrataCanada

AQUALIA THERMAL FACE SERUM + LIGHT CREAM---Review

If you are someone who enjoys spending their free time reading about skincare on the internet, chances are you've probably heard of Vichy and their newest collection, Aqualia Thermal. Their approach to skincare is to produce natural and hydrating skincare products at reasonable prices. Other than the price point, I found that the ingredient list really contribute to the effectiveness of the product. The packaging really speaks to the overall hydrating factor as it is a vibrant aqua blue glass bottle (which is why i doused it in water for the photoshoot!). Thanks to Influenster, I got to try the Aqualia Thermal Hydrating Face Serum and Light Cream.

AQUALIA THERMAL HYDRATING FACE SERUM +  LIGHT CREAM

According to Vichy the face serum "replenishes water loss for dry skin. This serum helps target dry skin patches, and plump dehydration lines." The serum is also great for those with sensitive skin as it mostly contains natural ingredients (97% natural origins!) including hyaluronic acid, mineralizing water and plant mannose. The formulation of the serum is a clear color and it has a runny viscosity to it. By using just a bit of the product (one pump) my skin was able to absorb nicely  without it feeling too tight, oily or sticky. Like the serum, the creme is light and a refreshing scent.

Overall I'm really happy with the results! I'm going to continue using the serum and cream as part of my night time routine on days when my skin is overly dehydrated. My skin looks healthy, nourished and feels really soft, supple, firm and smooth. I would definitely consider purchasing the serum in the future but not so much the cream (as im not sure how it differs from the serum itself).

MY SKIN TYPE: Oily, Combination
MY SKIN CONCERN:Acne, Hydration

Disclaimer: I received this product for free to test and review from Influenster, in their #VichyVoxbox however all opinions in this post are my own.

But seriously I'm thoroughly impressed with the skills and perseverance shown by so many players. ps. peep the video below that resulted from the Germany-Korea game. 🤣🤣

A new artist I discovered (thanks to Pinterest!) is a young illustrator and painter from Italy, Marialaura Fedi. I was drawn to her minimalist paintings of some very stylish women that range in skin tones, hair styles and fashion sense. Although the women she paints are faceless, their clothes, surroundings and poses exude confidence. You can find Marialaura's work on her  website and instagram or shop her prints here

Being By Sanctuary Shower Burst Review

The first thing that caught my attention is the great packaging and design on the aerosol can. This product itself dispenses as a shaving creme like gel that foams up into a mousse texture that is easy for application. The Chili Mango & Tonka Bean can has a mouth-watering mango scent profile, which smells incredible (I am a sucker for anything mango!) However, I was disappointed to find that the scent itself does not linger on the skin for too long & it's quite faint. That said I am curious to try other products from their range just for the innovative and easy to use aerosol can design & lovely scent pairings. Additionally their products have quite a reasonable price point at $15 CAD. Also their products are not tested on animals! 🐰 I will be purchasing the 'Salted caramel and macadamia burst' next because it just sound so darn delicious!

While the product is from the UK, Canadians can find the Being By Sanctuary range exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart and www.beautyboutique.ca in Canada

Lipidol skincare

   L I P I D O L    skincare

"The outcome is skin that stays in balance, avoids problems and radiates with good health."

Every time I complain about scarring and uneven skin tone, people recommended using bio oil. So naturally after seen bio oil on sale lead me to purchasing multiple products from the Lipidol line~from the makers of bio oil. The lineup consists of a face cleansing oil, overnight face oil, cleansing body oil, after-shower oil, after-shave oil. Lipidol's philosophy of cleansing with oil (as nature intended) may not be new but it has changed the way I look at skincare

Lipidol Overnight Face Oil
Apply oil to an oily face sounds like a recipe for disaster but Lipidol makes makes it works wonders for my skin. I applied this on at night before bed and woke up to soft touchable skin. All it took was a few drops, and this nourishing oil works while you sleep.

Lipidol Cleansing Face Oil
Cleansing Face Oil dissolves makeup, washing it away without stripping the skin of its natural goodness. Apply to dry face. Makeup and impurities will dissolve into the oil. Add a little water and continue massaging. The oil will emulsify to form a watery cream. Rinse off and you are done.

Lipidol Cleansing Body Oil
Cleansing Body Oil dissolves away dirt, cleaning without stripping the skin, which is of great benefit to dry skin sufferers because the dry skin cycle starts with abrasive washing. Apply to wet skin. The oil will emulsify and lather. Rinse off.

Lipidol After Shower Oil
After Shower Oil creates an invisible barrier which helps hold in moisture, especially in a dry climate where moisture is continually being drawn out of the skin by the dry outside air. Apply after showering. Fragranced with Chamomile essential oil.

A fresh start

H E A L T H I E R.   S T R O N G E R.   H A P P I E R.

I have a sort of love/ hate relationship with January. Like many other I begin the year with good intentions, resolutions and motivations. However, the problem is the repeat of last year's incomplete resolutions that were abandoned mid February. This year instead of holding myself to impossible standards, my resolution is to make smaller changes that challenge me and bring me joy.

Write and Read
I purchased a small notebook that I keep beside my bed where I write things that happened to me in the day, both significant and insignificant.
